As part of their academic journey, one of our dedicated Master’s students in Environmental Engineering – Energy branch – has been completing a meaningful internship at the EcoDES Consultancy. This experience was part of the #EU_WeBER 3.0 initiative, supported by the #EuropeanUnion and the #AustrianDevelopmentAgency.
The student contributed to a groundbreaking project focused on formalizing the second-hand clothing markets in Elbasan – a vital issue for environmental sustainability, public health, and inclusive economic development.
During the project development, our intern was part of the team that helped present survey findings gathered from market vendors and buyers of second clothes markets in Elbasan. These insights highlighted critical needs for better local government involvement, improved hygienic-sanitary conditions, and sustainable market practices.
The project concluded with the development and presentation of a roadmap for improved market management, including practical recommendations and community feedback – a collaborative step toward a healthier and more regulated environment for all for the second hand clothes markets in Elbasan!
We’re proud of our student’s contribution to this socially impactful and environmentally conscious initiative. Their work reflects the growing role of young professionals in shaping sustainable urban systems and inclusive policy reform, with specific focus on issues related to practices of the circular economy and sustainable development
