Webinar & Collaboration Opportunity: Multi-Scale Urban Heat Island Strategies

Dear colleagues,

With Europe facing increasingly frequent heatwaves, we are interested in connecting with researchers, companies and institutions working on Urban Heat Island mitigation, thermal comfort, urban climate resilience and sustainable urban design. This is a great area for potential joint research projects.

As a useful resource, tomorrow (08.07.2026) at 11:00 AM CEST, AIA Life Designers and One Click LCA are hosting a webinar on using ENVI-met to design cooler, more climate-resilient urban environments, featuring case studies from Grenoble and Paris.

Registration:

I expect this webinar to be useful for me and for my students, especially the topics:
• The role of ENVI-met in climate-responsive urban and landscape design
• How Urban Heat Island mitigation strategies differ between neighborhood-scale and localized interventions
• How simulation-driven approaches can inform urban morphology, vegetation frameworks, material choices, and irrigation strategies
• Practical methods for improving pedestrian thermal comfort in outdoor spaces
• How design teams integrate climate simulations into multidisciplinary project workflows
• The challenges and opportunities of implementing cooling strategies within constrained urban environments
The case studies will be useful too. I home tis webinar will open doors for future cooperation
